This was my first ever running event. A week prior to this, I trained at Brgy. Wawa and was able to run on the trails for 17.5km. It wasn't easy, but it was fun. This time though was different. I had a hard time running on the road. I felt the impact on my knees and it made my knees wobble. The road part was on the first 1/3 of the way, and I was thinking why I got myself into that kind of situation. I even thought why it wasn't that difficult when I ran the week ahead. And then there came the trail. I was able to speed up my pace and even managed to smile while running. I thought to myself that I was with nature again and that made it all worth it.

Until I got greeted again of the road and the black out part. It was a steep road that when I saw it, I gave up on the idea of finishing the race at the challenged time which was at an hour and 25 minutes. I even shouted " Waaa! Road nanaman!" (It's road again!) ANd so I just walked on my way up. But really, no one was able to run on that part of the road. Everyone walked and some even walked backwards. Or most of them, I didn't. I felt it rather more difficult to walk backwards.

You may see the route on this link:

It was a great experience and I realized two things:

One, I would love to run again, on the trails if I may say. Two, I wouldn't join a road running event for the life of me! Except if it has a REALLY nice singlet.
