Mt. Binacayan

Mt , Binacayan is one of the mountains that you can easily access. It is included in one of the numerous mountains of Rodriguez (Montalban), Rizal. Mt. Binacayan offers a view of the Sierra Madre Range with a difficulty level of 3/9 and with a 426 MASL. You can do a trilogy of Mt. Pamitininan, Mt. Hapunang Banoi and Mt. Binacayan in one day but didn't dare do that specially I was a beginner in mountaineering when I hiked this mountain.

I organized this DIY KKB hike and gathered a group consisted of 10 persons to join me with the hike. It'll be an advantage if you already know a guide so you no longer need to wait at the registration area. But you wouldn't really wait for long because there will be a lot of local guides waiting for hikers/guests. My choice of local guide is Sir Francis Cumal, he is a high school teacher in the weekdays and works as a local guide in the weekends. And since the they only allow 1 guide for 5 hikers, he usually let his students to guide if the group exceeds five people. So that his students will also have money for school. So if you get him as your guide. it's like hitting two birds with one stone. You can easily search him on Facebook then you can just send him a message. He is very accommodating so you can definitely ask him questions related to hiking the Montalban mountains.

How to get to Mt. Binacayan:

From Cubao, you can ride an FX just in front of Jollibee Farmers bound for Eastwood. Then you can ride a tricycle to Brgy. Wawa's Hall. There, you will have to register for the hike.

Costing:

FX to Eastwood - 50php

Tricycle from Eastwood to Brgy. Wawa - 60/tric or 20/head

Registration fee - 50php

Tour guide - 500php for 5 pax

Lunch at Four Brother's - 60-100php

Tricycle to UV Terminal bound to Cubao or Trinoma - 60/tric or 20/head

UV Terminal bound to Cubao or Trinoma - 50php

Sample Itinerary:

3AM - Meet up at Jollibee Farmers

3:30AM - ETD to Wawa jump off

4:00-4:15 AM - ETA at Brgy. Wawa Jump off/Register/Prayer

4:30AM - Start of the hike

7:00-7:30 - Summit

11:00AM - Back to Jump off/wash up or you can also visit Wawa dam

12:00NN - 1:00PM - Lunch

1:00PM - ETD to Cubao

3:00-4:00PM - ETA Cubao/ Trinoma (it depends on the traffic)
