Moving Away Somehow

You were not just my curtain to protect me from the sun.

I admit that I expected you to be the kind of curtain that would also protect me from the rain.

But for you, the rain that came my way was like nothing you can handle.

For you, it was like an acid that threatened to melt, and so, you ran away.

You left me when I had my own baggage while I was also carrying yours.

You left me hanging with all of our baggage and moved on with your life.

And here I am, alone, handling everything without any idea how.

And so I'll move on with my life without you in it.

I'll try to lift everything and hoping that eventually, I can leave them somewhere.

But I won't do what you did.

I am straying away from your path and perhaps from your life.

I will leave all these baggage without hurting someone I love.
